Nonie Crete

A native of Penetanguishene, now living in Fergus, Nonie Crete studied music at Humber College in Toronto and developed her musical talents as in the tradition of many Canadian artists as her wide range of influences include Gordon Lightfoot, KD Lang, Anne Murray, Willie P. Bennett and James Gordon to name a few. She also draws upon many international artists such as Mary Black, Cleo Laine, Carol King, Bonnie Raitt, Ella Fitzgerald, Cat Stevens and John Denver. She has toured folk festivals and house concerts across North America. In Ireland Nonie was featured on BBC and opened at a concert in Donegal for Clannad and Altan, where the response to her music was overwhelming. She has even tried out her acting skills as Jenny Diver in James Gordon’s highly successful Folk Opera Hard Scrabble Road. The most recent of her seven albums is Girl in a Crazy World. http://www.myspace.com/nonicrete/
